Veterans honored throughout the county in many ways

Nov. 11—Veterans were honored throughout the county in myriad forums during the last several days in Veterans Day programs through schools, municipalities and service organizations.

The Pymatuning Valley Local Schools hosted a Veterans Day concert on Thursday afternoon with fourth graders singing patriotic songs, the middle school band playing and the Soundwaves performing to honor veterans.

A Veterans Day program took place at Andrus Party Center to honor dozens of veterans, many from area nursing homes. It was a collaborative effort between the Ashtabula County Veterans Service Commission, Ashtabula County Medical Center and groups that operate nursing homes.

The Grand Valley Local Schools hosted a Veterans Day program Friday morning to honor dozens of veterans for their service. A certificate of appreciation was provided to each veteran during a district-wide assembly in the GVHS gymnasium.
