Vian, Okla. man killed in motorcycle and car collision Thursday night in Fort Smith
A Vian, Oklahoma, man riding a motorcycle was killed in a Fort Smith collision with a car Thursday night, police said.
Austin Thompson, 31, was killed in the collision, the Arkansas State Police said.
Thompson was on a Harley-Davidson northbound on Towson Avenue about 7:40 p.m. when the driver of a Chevrolet HHR, Christopher Grigsby, 35, of Van Buren, turned to go east on Fresno Street, according to a fatality report submitted by Fort Smith police to the Arkansas State Police. The report states that Thompson attempted to brake, but hit the front of HHR.
The weather was clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the collision.
