Vice captains were announced for the inaugural World Champions Cup on Monday.

The nationally-televised PGA Tour Champions event held at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton is a team event pitting the United States, Europe and International sides against each other.

Australia’s Stuart Appleby was picked as a vice captain for Team International. Ernie Els is a playing captain with teammates Vijay Singh, Retief Goosen, Steven Alker, Stephen Ames and K.J. Choi.

European captain Darren Clarke picked Sweden’s Jesper Parnevik as his vice captain. The rest of the European team includes Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie, Miguel Angel Jiménez, Robert Karlsson and Alex Čejka.

Billy Andrade was announced the vice captain for Team USA. Jim Furyk is the U.S. captain and the rest of the team includes Steve Stricker, David Toms, Jerry Kelly, Justin Leonard and Brett Quigley.

Vice captains are non-playing team members, unless an injury forces a team member from competing for the remainder of the tournament, a news release said.

The tournament is scheduled for Dec. 7-10. A team format is used for Dec. 7 and Dec. 8. A pro-am is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 9.

And singles matches are held Sunday, Dec. 10.

ABC and ESPN are airing the tournament on Dec. 7, 8 and 10.

Tickets and parking information can be found at www.WorldChampionsCup.com. Prices for tickets are expected to increase soon, a news release said.

There are a limited number of Black Friday “buy one, get one” ticket deals for champions passes, which start at $40, the release said.
