I'm a Celebrity 2015 star Vicky Pattison has publicly apologised for body-shaming Pop Idol winner Michelle McManus.

McManus, who won Pop Idol in 2003, called out Pattison for an Instagram post in which she complained about internet trolls commenting on her shape.

After receiving some online abuse about her own body, Pattison posted a video defending herself and captioned it: "Soooooooo, I’m sorry to whinge and have to post this but I’ve had about enough of shitty articles, online bullies, body shaming, trolling and negativity! And I’m hoping this will silence everything."

However, McManus accused Pattison of hypocrisy, claiming that she body shamed her back in 2014.

McManus shared a headline of an old article about Pattison, which read: "'There's a Michelle McManus inside me dying to get out!' Vicky Pattison gorges on pizza and chips despite her 'constant fear' of gaining weight."

Sharing a screenshot of the old article, McManus wrote: "Yes @vickypattison because you’ve never publicly body shamed anyone have you? Oh wait..."

Pattison has now publicly apologised to McManus via the MailOnline, stating: "There are a lot of things I did five years ago that I’m not proud of. And to be honest, I wouldn’t even recognise the girl I was back then.

"I cannot apologise enough if my comments caused upset or hurt. I can guarantee even then it was not my intention, just my ignorance. I hope you accept my apology."
