She said: "Over the years I've had every excuse for why I've not had kids yet... I was selfish, I was too young, there was more of my career I wanted to have first. If those reasons were legitimate it would have been absolutely fine but I think it was all sort of all hiding this feeling that I genuinely believed that I was gonna have children that felt in some way broken, a little bit like me."

Pattison then became tearful before adding: "But like the documentary has helped us so much realise that there is an element of alcoholism that is hereditary and learnt behaviour, but there's also a huge element of it that we can control if you get to it fast enough and you have the right resources around you."

Pattison has previously been open about her own struggles with alcohol addiction and talked about how she relied on drink when she first became famous through Geordie Shore.

In a recent interview she said: "For so long I cultivated this image as the loud-mouthed party girl who was always up for everything and always had an opinion so, when I go out, I feel that pressure to get drunk and perform that role – otherwise, who am I?"
