Vics Peak Wildfire Burns Over 9,000 Acres in Western New Mexico

More than 170 firefighters were assigned to battle the 9,924-acre Vics Peak wildfire burning in the Magdalena Ranger District of the Cibola National Forest, in western New Mexico, on Tuesday, June 30, officials said.

The fire was started by a lightning strike on June 15, according to officials.
