UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal accident on I-20 West in Aiken County
May 7—An early morning accident on I-20 West Saturday morning left a man dead.
The victim was Taylor M. Ross, 20, of Martinez, Georgia, according to Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables.
The incident occurred at 7:04 a.m. at the mile-28 marker, according to Trooper Nick Pye with the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The driver, operating a 1999 Chevrolet sedan, ran off the left side of the road and overturned, sustaining fatal injuries, Pye said. There were three additional occupants in the vehicle, who have all been transported to local hospitals.
Ross was unrestrained and was ejected from the vehicle, according to the coroner's news release.
The incident remains under investigation by the S.C. Highway Patrol.
