Victim of Sunday shooting identified; 2 from Alexandria arrested on 2nd-degree murder charges

Two Alexandria residents have been arrested after a Sunday shooting in Alexandria that killed a 43-year-old man.

The victim was identified by the Alexandria Police Department as Eric Dewayne Perry.

Perry was found lying near the Lee Street and Bank Drive intersection after the department received reports around 7 p.m. Sunday about gunshots and someone being shot. He died at the scene, according to police.

On Tuesday, detectives arrested Kenneth Ray Sears, 34, and Nicole Slaughter, 41. Both were being charged with second-degree murder.

Both are being held on bails of at least $1 million. Sears also was charged with a probation violation, while Slaughter also was charged with four counts of contempt of court.
