Victims name released in Fayetteville shooting that killed one and injured two others

Fayetteville police have released the name of a man who was killed Wednesday morning in a shooting that left two other men hospitalized, one in critical condition.

Jason Lamar Smith Jr, 20, of Fayetteville, was shot and killed in the 800 block of Hilton Drive on Wednesday morning, according to the Fayetteville Police Department. Officers responded to the shooting at 4:17 a.m. where they located Smith in the road with multiple gunshot wounds, a news release said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The names of the two men who were injured were not released. One victim was listed in critical condition Friday and the other sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the release said.
