Victoria Beckham pokes fun at missing the Spice Girls tour
The Spice Girls may have had their hugely-successful reunion tour last month, but they were one band member down.
Victoria Beckham, formerly known as Posh Spice, turned down the opportunity to grab a mic and sing with her old girl band once last time.
The popstar-turned-designer took to her social media this week to post a tongue-in-cheek message nodding to her absence during the tour.
On her Instagram Stories, Beckham shared on her a video of herself on holiday in Miami, surrounded by dry ice and glasses of wine. She wrote: “I mean… All this dry ice makes me feel like I’m on tour x.”
In an interview with Vogue Germany, she explained her reasoning for skipping the tour, confirming that it wasn’t a decision she took lightly.
“It took me a lot of courage not to go on tour with the Spice Girls again, but to be the one who says: ‘You know, I’m not doing it because things feel different now than they used to’”, she said.
“I’d rather concentrate on my family and my company. I’m 45 now and very happy to be the woman I am… I’m not trying to change, I want to be the best version of myself. Before I turned 40, I wasn’t that confident. I learned to listen to my gut feeling.”
The designer is currently taking a much needed holiday with her husband David and their children Romeo, Cruz and Harper, with their eldest Brooklyn staying in London.
The A-List couple recently celebrated two decades of marriage together on 4 July. They marked the occasion in style, by taking a private tour of Versailles.
