Victoria Beckham Sued For $150,000 Over Instagram Post
Victoria Beckham has been slapped with a federal lawsuit, accusing her of stealing from another artist.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, a photographer named Felipe Ramales is accusing Beckham of ripping off his work.
He states, “This action arises out of Defendant’s unauthorized reproduction and public display of a copyrighted photograph of singer and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, owned and registered by Ramales, a New York based professional photographer.
The suit explains, “Ramales photographed singer and fashion designer Victoria Beckham” and obtained a copyright.

He claims Beckham took the photograph (of herself) and ran it on her Instagram story. He claims she used it to promote her fashion business.
The photographer states, “Defendants did not license the Photograph from Plaintiff for its Instagram Story, nor did Defendants have Plaintiff’s permission or consent to publish the Photograph on its Instagram Story.”
He included a screenshot of Beckham using his work. She captioned the photo “Kisses from NYC! My favourite flower look for summer! X Swipe up to shop the look x.” She included a link to purchase her clothes. He is demanding all profits she made from the post.
Ramales is also demanding $150,000 per infringement.
Beckham is the latest celebrity to be hit with a paparazzi lawsuit. Model Gigi Hadid was sued last week by a man named Robert O’Neil.
He accused her of using a photograph of her ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik on her Instagram story.
O’Neil is demanding unspecified damages for alleged infringement. He also is seeking for Hadid to have to turn over accounting. He is demanding Hadid, “be required to account for all profits, income, receipts, or other benefits derived by Defendant as a result of its unlawful conduct.” He is seeking in excess of $150,000.
