The Victorian House From Stepmom Is for Sale

Many pivotal scenes played out between Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon here

If the 1998 hit movie Stepmom (starring Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon) wasn't enough of a tear-jerker, the house where Sarandon’s character, Jackie, lived in the flick was beautiful enough to make you cry. And now, that stunning Victorian mansion is for sale.

Located in Nyack, New York, not far from Manhattan, the six-bedroom, four-bathroom house, which is named Glenholme, is listed for $3.75 million. In the years since the movie was filmed there, the owner has extensively renovated the property, but it still retains its historic charm.

Inside is a grand staircase, large living room with French doors, a chef’s eat-in kitchen with modern appliances, multiple sitting areas, several ornate fireplaces, and many beautiful architectural details like wood floors and coffered ceilings. There’s also a secret passageway that leads from the dining area to the kitchen.

Upstairs there are several bedrooms, including the master suite, which boasts a huge dual-vanity bathroom and dressing area. Plus, you get stunning views of the Hudson River while lying in bed.

While the interior shots in Stepmom were actually filmed on a set, fans will recognize the three-sided wraparound porch from the movie. The touching story wasn't this house's only acting gig, either: It also was used as a bed-and-breakfast called Cupid’s Cabin in the 2010 Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler film Bounty Hunter.
