Victorville man, Oak Hills High School graduate, one of several new CHP officers

A Victorville man is one of several people who completed cadet training at the California Highway Patrol Academy in West Sacramento.

Officer Chase Jeffrey completed his training and was sworn in before be assigned to duty at the CHP’s Solano Area office in Fairfield, located between Sacramento and San Francisco.

As part of the CHP’s Golden Gate Division, traffic flowing through Solano County is some of the busiest seen north of the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, CHP officials stated. Jeffrey graduated from Oak Hills High School in 2013.

Before attending the CHP Academy, he served 10 years as an Army staff sergeant.

Officers from San Bernardino County

In addition to Jeffrey, three other people from San Bernardino County completed CHP cadet training and were sworn in as officers, those included:

Officer Jesus Alejandro Avalos Cortes of Yucca Valley and is assigned to the CHP’s Garberville Area office. Cortes graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 2011. He went on to serve more than 11 years in the Marine Corps, achieving the rank of sergeant.

Issac Joel Escobedo of San Bernardino completed cadet training and is assigned to the CHP’s Hayward Area office. Escobedo graduated from Eisenhower High School in Rialto. He attended California State University, San Bernardino, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in human resource management. He also worked for MDRN Staffing in Ontario.

Justin Lee of Rancho Cucamonga completed cadet training and is assigned to the CHP’s San Diego Area office. Lee graduated from Etiwanda High School in Rancho Cucamonga in 2018. He earned an associate of science degree from Chaffey College. He also served for more than two years in the Air Force, achieving the rank of Airman First Class.
