ARCOLA, Ill. (WCIA) – It’s been less than a week since a major grain bin collapsed at the intersection of Illinois 133 and U.S. 45 in Arcola.
Now, with new video shared with WCIA from Graber Building and Supply of Arcola, we know more about how the bin collapsed.
The video shows the moment the bin gave way and hundreds of thousands of bushels of corn spilled into the street.
As that happens, clean-up is underway. WCIA crews noted on scene numerous large cranes with employees from a construction company assessing what happened and beginning the process to remove the destroyed bin and the corn around it. That process could take several weeks.
