State to suspend license of man accused of jumping on hood of bus

State police are revoking the driver license of a man accused of stopping in the middle of the Mass. Pike and climbing onto the hood of a school bus earlier this week.

The school bus driver's dash camera recorded the scary moment when the other driver began waving and unexpected stopped in the middle lane. Video shows the man exiting his car gesturing and climbing onto the hood.

The bus driver was passing through Newton while driving from Boston to Weston at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when the incident occurred, according to a member of the bus driver's family. No students were on the bus.

The bus driver's family said the man in the red Toyota Corolla stopped, seemingly at random, and was shouting, "Why are your windows so dark?"

Massachusetts State Police said the man tried to get aboard the bus through the side door, but the bus driver refused to give him access.

Video of the incident did not include audio. It does show the man walking around in the roadway and the bus pulling away a few moments later.

Massachusetts State Police said they have identified the 42-year-old from Dorchester as the man seen in the video. Officials did not release the man's name, but said they had submitted a request for the Registry of Motor Vehicles to revoke his license immediately.

State police also said that the man was issued a summons on the charges of disorderly conduct, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to use care in stopping and a marked lanes violation.
