Video of Holy Grail Tavern & Grille bouncer slamming man's head prompts police action

A viral video of a man getting his head slammed by a bar employee at The Banks has prompted a police investigation.

A bouncer at Holy Grail Tavern & Grille was filmed late Sunday night grabbing a man and slamming his head multiple times on an outdoor table. The man lost consciousness during the assault, according to a Cincinnati police report.

Graphic clips of the confrontation were widely shared on Facebook. Ava Newbill recorded the incident and told Local 12 (WKRC-TV) that the man had been acting erratically outside the bar before the employee grabbed him.

Capt. Doug Weisman, the central business district commander, said police became aware of the incident earlier this week and have made contact with both the Holy Grail employee and the other individual.

They are investigating it as a potential felony, according to the police report. No charges have been filed.

Holy Grail owner Jim Moehring told The Enquirer that the employee has been terminated. The business deactivated some features of its Facebook page earlier this week.

The Enquirer will update this story if more information becomes available.
