VIDEO: Nothing is safe from the jaws of an alligator, not even a sheriff's marine unit drone

It is understood that alligators will attack anything with wildlife and humans firmly at the top of the list of Florida's most famous carnivore.

For that reason, gators should be feared when you are near their habit, which include freshwater, slow-moving rivers, swamps, marshes and lakes.

Every now and then an Alligator will show up at someone's front door or make a rare appearance at the beach (alligators can tolerate salt water for brief periods because they do not have salt glands).

So, something that happened in Lee County last week holds a special place in the Alligator Attack Hall of Fame. It's next level. According to a Facebook post by the Lee County Sheriff's Office on June 9, the a drone by the LCSO's Marine Unit was was attacked.

That's right. Alligator vs. Drone.

There were few details shared, including the location of the attack or when it happened, but for a few seconds at least the confrontation between beast and machine produced a very entertaining video.

The clip appears to show the creature swimming up to the device (yellow) floating in the water before quickly snapping at it.
