Video: Patricio Freire or A.J. McKee – who has more to lose at Bellator 263?

At long last, A.J. McKee gets his shot at a Bellator title Saturday.

McKee (17-0 MMA, 17-0 BMMA) reached the final of Bellator’s featherweight grand prix, as did dual champion Patricio Freire (32-4 MMA, 20-4 BMMA), who will put his 145-pound title up for grabs against the unbeaten standout.

McKee will be fighting in front of what is likely to be a friendly crowd at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., not far from his home base. A win would give him not only the tournament crown, but Freire’s featherweight title (Freire also is the lightweight champion).

Considering McKee has long predicted he’d become featherweight champion, who has more to lose? A loss for him would be his first – and deny him what he’s promised himself. A loss for Freire would take arguably his most important title, but still leave him with the 155-pound strap.
