Video shows ‘disgusting’ egg attack on street vendor selling face masks, L.A. cops say

Authorities in Los Angeles would like a word with the creators of an online video showing a man throw an egg at a street vendor selling face masks, a sheriff’s post on Twitter says.

In the video, the driver films as he pulls his car up to a street vendor with cloth face masks for sale. A passenger calls the man over to the car, then tells him he dropped some cash.

When the vendor looks down, the passenger hits him in the chest with an egg and the driver pulls away as both men laugh, the video shows.

The “disgusting” attack took place in South Los Angeles near Florence and Central avenues, police wrote on Twitter.

“During this #pandemic, choose to #stayhome next time,” deputies advised. “In the meantime, we’ll be in touch.”

Sheriff’s officials say they don’t know when the attack took place, but someone apparently posted the video online last week, KNBC reported.

On Twitter, deputies thanked people who had alerted them to the original video.

Cloth face masks are recommended for people venturing outside in the coronavirus pandemic to help curb the spread of the virus.
