Video shows fisherman caught in shark feeding frenzy off the coast of Louisiana

A fisherman looking for yellowfin tuna instead got caught in the middle of a shark feeding frenzy off the coast of Louisiana.

Dillon May was fishing with his girlfriend on a boat about 15 miles off the coast of Venice, Louisiana when he thought he heard a "tuna boil" – the sound a feeding frenzy makes the water appear to boil.

May looked and saw it was sharks on a bait pod.

"Never seen anything like it," May told Storyful. "No shrimp boats were in sight either."

Video footage May shared last month shows several gray fins flopping in the water as the frenzied sharks feasted around the boat.

May added people on the boat saw a large menhaden pod and drove the boat towards it, but the sharks found the pod and "pushed them up against the boat to feast on them."

May said the sharks were in such a frenzy they brought water into the boat.
