Video shows vehicle fire which spread to Norfolk home, displacing 4

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Norfolk Fire & Rescue responded to a vehicle fire which spread to a house Tuesday morning.

According to officials, crews received a call at 6:32 a.m. regarding a fire coming from an electric vehicle in the 8500 block of Troy Street.

Crews arrived to the scene and found heavy fire coming from the vehicle, which also spread to the house.

A WAVY 10 viewer sent video of the fire, showing heavy smoke coming from what is left of the vehicle.

The fire was declared under control by 6:58 a.m. and no injuries were reported.

Four people have been displaced by the fire, and the American Red Cross has been called to assist. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
