VIDEO: Southwest Airlines passenger repeatedly punches man during flight

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Southwest Airlines passenger was seen repeatedly punching a man during a flight on Monday.

Airline officials told NBC News that two passengers became disruptive onboard Flight 1288 from Oakland, California to Kauai, Hawaii.

A video from @kauai.airbnb shows one man repeatedly punching another passenger while the plane was mid-air. The incident happened about an hour into the flight.

Passengers and crew members were seen trying to calm the men down and pulling them away from each other.

Witnesses told NBC News that both men were detained once the flight landed.

It is unclear how the fight started or if any charges have been filed against the men.

Southwest Airlines issued a statement commending the crew and customers “for their professionalism in diffusing the situation,” NBC News reported.
