Video: Watch Israeli apartment complexes come together singing Hatikvah amid rocket threats

An X post from this week shows footage of a neighborhood near Tel Aviv at 9 p.m., and is captioned, “Beautiful: an entire Israeli neighborhood gathers on their balconies to sing Hatikva, our national anthem. We will not be broken.”

i24News reported Tuesday, “Palestinian Islamic Jihad threatens rocket barrage toward Tel Aviv area tonight at 21:00 Israel time.”

Israelis in the Tel Aviv area posted videos on X at the expected time of the rocket barrage, showing entire apartment complexes breaking into song, singing the Israeli national anthem, “Hatikvah,” which means “the hope” in Hebrew, per The Messenger.

Responses to these posts have been positive and full of hope on X. One commenter said, “That’s incredibly inspiring! Proud to see the unity & strength of the community. Singing together from the heart, reminding us all to stay resilient. #Hatikva.”

Another said, “Moments like these remind us of the strength and determination of the human spirit. come on! Keep spreading the positivity and strength!”

Since Hamas attacked Israel last week, “at least 1,300 Israelis — including 222 soldiers — have been killed and more than 3,300 have been injured. In Gaza, at least 1,400 people have been killed and more than 6,000 injured,” per NBC.
