'The View' co-hosts slam Trump, Lindsey Graham amid racist tweet controversy

The panel of The View weighed in on the recent controversial tweets by President Trump, slamming the president for encouraging four democratic congresswomen, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, to “go back” to the “crime infested places from which they came.” “This is very dangerous,” said co-host Whoopi Goldberg. “You don’t want to be telling people to ‘go back to their country’ because if we gotta go, you’re going too,” she added. Senator Lindsey Graham added even more fuel to the fire after a Monday morning appearance on Fox & Friends. Graham defended Trump’s comments, and further attacked the congresswomen. “We all know that AOC and this crowd are a bunch of communists,” said Graham. “They hate Israel, they hate our own country,” he added. Conservative co-host Meghan McCain, who knows Graham personally, expressed surprise at his comments. “Whatever is happening to Lindsey, this is not the person I used to know,” she said. McCain defended conservatives and expressed her anger at other republicans for not condemning Trump and Graham. “This is what people think all conservatives are now, and we are not,” she said. “The cowardice I’m seeing, republicans not speaking out and saying it today, is embarrassing,” she added. Co-host Sunny Hostin shared her dismay at Trump’s comments, saying “I remember being told ‘go back to Africa’ and all this nonsense. And it’s so hurtful and it’s so dismissive. I always thought those people are just hateful and ignorant and racist. I never thought the day would come when I would hear that from the president of the United States of America.”
