<p>The 2019 BMW X7 SUV has finally arrived as a rolling fortress of power, technology, and luxury. What took so long? </p>

<p>The X7, at nearly 17 feet long, is BMW's largest SUV. </p>

<p>The X7's huge, flashy nostrils are sure to turn heads at the curb. </p>

<p>Optional active anti-roll bars, powered by a conventional 12-volt electrical system, assist both the X7's handling prowess and ride comfort. </p>

<p>The X7 employs a multilink suspension setup, complete with standard adaptive dampers and air springs, front and rear. </p>

<p>When fitted with the optional, factory-installed hitch, the X7 is rated to tow up to 7500 pounds. </p>

<p>While its styling is similar to that of BMW's smaller X5 SUV, the X7's glitzier detailing lends it a properly lavish appearance. </p>

<p>X7 pricing will start at $74,895 for the xDrive40i model and $93,595 for the xDrive50i. </p>

<p>The X7's attractively detailed front lighting elements hide in the shadows of its massive grille openings. </p>

<p>The X7 will be available with wheel sizes up to 22 inches in diameter. </p>

<p>All X7s will come with BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system as standard. </p>

<p>LED rear lighting elements brighten up the X7's rear design treatment. </p>

<p>Befitting a properly luxurious presentation, the execution of the X7's interior is one of BMW's best ever. </p>

<p>The X7's driver and front passenger thrones are supremely comfortable and look great to boot. </p>

<p>An optional rear-seat entertainment system includes a pair of 10.2-inch touchscreen monitors fitted to the back of each front seat. </p>

<p>The X7's second row of seats can be had as either a conventional three-across bench or as a pair of individual captain's chairs. </p>

<p>Opting for the X7's Cold Weather package adds five-zone climate control and heated seats for all three rows of seats. </p>

<p>Among the X7's more decadent touches: its shifter and other controls can be spec'd in glass. </p>

<p>Of course, ambient interior lighting and thundering premium audio systems are on the X7's equipment list. </p>

<p>Sadly, only the X7's front cup holders can be optioned with heating and cooling elements. </p>

<p>With all of its seats raised, the X7 offers a modest 12 cubic feet of cargo space. </p>

<p>Powering the xDrive40i model is BMW's familiar turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six that produces 335 horsepower. </p>

<p>The X7 does offer an optional Off Road package, although we reckon few if any will venture far from suburban turf. </p>

<p>What a fast-approaching X7 xDrive50i model looks like as it fills your review mirror. </p>

<p>The xDrive50i's twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 makes a stout 456 horses and 479 lb-ft of torque. </p>

<p>All X7s feature a sweetly tuned, ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission. </p>

<p>Optional BMW M Sport styling elements bolster the X7's sportier side. </p>

<p>The X7 will offer a full bevy of standard active-safety equipment, as well as optional adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. </p>

<p>Like it or not, blue brake calipers are included with the X7's M Sport package. </p>

<p>The X7's 12.3-inch central display can be operated by both touch and the central iDrive controller. </p>

<p>Nearly every surface in the X7 can be covered in leather. </p>

<p>Regardless of the rear-seat configuration, both setups slide and recline. </p>

<p>A decent underfloor storage hold maximizes the X7's cargo area. </p>

<p>Both the X7's second and third rows can be power folded or raised with the push of a button in the cargo area. </p>

<p>Given the rabid state of performance-SUV development, we're certain that the X7 will eventually evolve beyond the xDrive50i's 456-hp output. </p>

Refined, modern, and enormous, BMW's biggest SUV yet is finally here-even if the jury is still out on its dynamics.
