Elisabeth Hasselbeck is set to return to The View, much to the ire of the series’ fans.

According to People, Hasselbeck, the conservative former co-host who starred on the talk show between 2003 and 2013, will return for a temporary co-hosting stint Aug. 3. As she told People, “It will be an honor to co-host The View, share our bestselling children’s book, ‘Flashlight Night, and as always tackle hot topics! Pray for me y’all!”

Fans are having a hard time with the news.

One viewer wrote, “I was glad when they removed Elisabeth Hasselbeck as a host on The View. I see they are bringing her back as a guest host. I will be sure not to watch that day.” Another echoed the sentiment, writing, “Ugh! I just saw a reason not to watch The View next week. Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

One viewer included the fandom's opinion about former Trump administration member Alyssa Farrah Griffin permanently joining the talk show.

“Why is Elisabeth Hasselbeck coming back next week? #TheView diehards are ALREADY stressed enough tryna cope with the fact we’re getting long-tooth Alyssa for the long haul,” they wrote. “All this cramming conservatism down our throats is nauseating.”

Hasselbeck’s final years with The View ended in turmoil as she continually squared off against Rosie O’Donnell regarding their differing political opinions. After leaving The View, Hasselbeck went to Fox News’ Fox & Friends until 2015, as reported by E! News. After which, she has been focusing more on being a wife and mother, as well as an author.
