Star Jones is back on The View and bringing the controversy with her opinion on Justice Clarence Thomas’s wife, Ginni Thomas.

According to Decider, Jones came on the show to promote her new role as judge on Divorce Court. But when The View panelists started talking about politics, Jones revealed that she thinks that Ginni Thomas is actually very smart, even though Ginni still believes that the 2020 presidential election of Joe Biden was falsified.

The majority of the panelists described Ginni as "cray-cray" (according to Ana Navarro) and a "filthy liar" (according to Sunny Hostin).

Joy Behar also said that she doesn’t know how the Thomases don’t bring up politics at home before asking, “Is she a liar or is she in a cult?”

Alyssa Farah Griffin also voiced her displeasure over Ginni, saying, “She’s technically entitled to her own activism. She’s even entitled to believe things like that the election was stolen even though that’s demonstrably untrue. But this is a woman who was at the Ellipse on Jan. 6. Like even when they get home for dinner that day you’d think Justice Thomas would be like, ‘So what did you do today?'”

Jones chimed in with her opinion later in the episode once she was introduced as a guest, and said that she believes Ginni already knew that talking about voter fraud with her husband would "compromise" him.

“If you are calculating, you are going to say, ‘I’m never going to put myself in that position to be asked that question.’ So it’s eaither she’s lying about not having the conversation, or she was being calculating and strategic.”

"I actually think she's very smart," she said when asked by the others what she thought about Ginni's behavior. "I disagree with everything she says but I think she's a smart lady."

This pleasantly surprised Hostin, who said that Ginni’s belief in a fraudulent election overshadows “any smarts she had.”

Jones coming back to 'The View' is not unusual for former panelists

Jones coming back to ‘The View’ is not unusual for former panelists. Elisabeth Hasselbeck recently came back to promote a new book, and the original co-hosts came back together to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary.
