Vigil Held for NYPD Officers Fatally Shot in Harlem

A vigil was held outside a police station in Harlem on the evening of January 25 to honor two NYPD officers who died after being shot while responding to a domestic disturbance call.

New York City Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell said officers Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora were trying to provide aid to a man, who then opened fire on them “suddenly and without warning.”

In a media address, Sewell said: “I am struggling to find the words to express the tragedy that we are enduring. We are mourning and we are angry.”
