Vikes run well at BCC
May 15—Both the Barr-Reeve boys and girls track and Field competed Monday and Tuesday night in the Blue Chip Conference.
The ladies came away runner-ups with (130.5 pts.) Northeast Dubois won with (147) South Knox(126), North Knox (95), Wood Memorial (46), Vincennes Rivet (30.5), Washington Catholic (30) and Shoals (6).
"It was a tough battle between Northeast Dubois, South Knox and us. We battled all conference with SK and NED all teams holding on to first place at one point during the meet. NED had some strong senior performances at the end to pull ahead and capture the win. I could not be more proud of our ladies battling all night we had two new school records and 16 PRs on the girls side. Elle Knepp set two new school records in the 100H (15.33) and High Jump (5'4") also jumping a state standard. She had three first place finishes and being named All-Conference in the 100h, 200m( 26.78) and Long Jump(16'8.3/4") and placing 2nd in High Jump. She was awarded with the High Points of the meet plaque with 38 pts. Almost getting a perfect score. The ladies 4×800 relay was 2nd (Allie Knepp, Emma Salmon, Hailey Buse, Emily Wagler) with a new PR (10:55) 3rd place finishers were Madison Senne 400m and a new PR (1:05.12) Katie Raber 300h new PR (52.19) and Emily Wagler 1600m new PR(5:54) 4th place finishers were the 4×100 (Katie Raber, Lucy Wirtz, Olivia Nonte, Maeili Stoll) and a new PR (57.01) Katie Raber 100h and new PR( 18.16) Lucy Wirtz 300H and a new PR(53.73) Allie Knepp 3200 and a new PR (13:09) and the 4×400 (Hailey Buse, Kennedy Sinnott, Madisyn Wagler, Lucy Wirtz) 5th place finishers were Olivia Nonte Discus and Emma Salmon 1600m and a new PR (6:02) 6th place finishers were Katelyn Stevens Shot Put, Madison Senne 200m and Long Jump with a new PR( 14'3") and Emily Wagler 800m. Emma Salmon was 7th place in the 800m with a new PR (2:46) and 8th place finishers were Katie Raber in High Jump and Hailey Buse in the 400m. We had a great meet and will be fine tuning some things to get ready for Sectional.
The boys finished third scoring the highest points ever in school history with 96 points. SK won with 235 points, NED 120 points. NK-56, WM- 37, Shoals 27, WC- 19. LO-17 and VR-4 pts. Kaden Buse was conference champion in the 400m (51.09) he was also 2nd in the 100m and 200m and was the anchor leg on the 4×400 placing 3rd. He scored 27.5 pts for his team. Nolan McCain also had a great night breaking the School Record in the 110h with a new PR (17.11) placing 4th. He was 3rd in Long Jump with a new PR( 19'3") and 5th place in the 300h and new PR (45.46) and was also on the 4×400R. 3rd place finishers were Yadi Victoriono Discus and a new PR (118') Logan Spinks in the 1600m and 3200m. 4×800R (Austin Daughtery, Owen McCraken, Evan Wehmier, Logan Spinks) 4×400R (Nolan McCain, Grady Corbin, Grant Madison, Kaden Buse) 5th place finishers Cody Kitts Shot Put, Grady Corbin 110H and a new PR(47.21) and Owen McCraken 3200m. 6th place finishers were Yadier Victoriono Shot Put. Grady Corbin 300H and new PR (47.21) and the 4×100R (Grant Madison, Evan Wehmier, Austin Daughtery, Griffin Bell) Tye Thompson placed 8th in the 400m with a new PR (58.01).
