Sports Pulse: Mark Wilf on the team’s ongoing commitment to social justice

Video Transcript

JORI EPSTEIN: What has the last year been like for you? I know that the social justice commitment from the Vikings far predates the killing of George Floyd. But when George Floyd is killed in sort of your city and country are shaken, what did you view responsibility has been, and how do you go about trying to meet it?

MARK WILF: Our players were very determined. We're focused on and we're sharing that vision voter education and registration, number one. Number two, educational curriculum on racism, and Black history, and-- and third, law enforcement and criminal justice reform. So, we've heard stories from coaches, from players. There's tremendous pain involved, tremendous hurt, and really a real commitment and passion, to just, we have to be better.

And we know, and I know our players and coaches, for instance, our whole organization knows, we have that platform. We are a microcosm, in a sense. We have players from all backgrounds, coaches from all backgrounds and walks of life, and the conversations we're having in the privileged environments of an NFL locker room are the kind of conversations and work that hopefully can go on all over this country.
