What is Vikings S Anthony Harris going to make in free agency?

With free agency right around the corner, it will be interesting to see which Vikings players re-sign and which ones move on.

Given Minnesota’s salary cap situation, the team does not appear to be in a position to sign any big-ticket free agents. Although, with no salary cap determined just yet, the Vikings’ exact amount of cap space remains up in the air.

So each of Minnesota’s pending free agents’ value is imperative for finding out whether they will stay or go. And arguably the biggest pending free agent for the team will be Anthony Harris.

Harris’ value can be hard to determine. He was an elite safety in 2019 and in 2018 he showed out in a lesser role. In 2020, however, Harris regressed.

PFF still thinks Harris could be looking at a big payday. The outlet tabbed Harris to receive $14 million per year over the course of four years this offseason. If that ends up being the case, the Vikings most likely do not have the cap space to keep him.

Add in the fact that Minnesota already has a top-tier safety under contract in Harrison Smith and it becomes hard to force a scenario where Harris stays.
