Vikings CB Cameron Dantzler sits out vs. Giants with ankle injury, Duke Shelley starts

Vikings cornerback Cameron Dantzler was inactive for Saturday’s game against the New York Giants, and replaced again in the lineup by Duke Shelley.

Dantzler tweaked his ankle in practice on Wednesday and missed his sixth game out of the past seven. He sat out four games with an ankle injury, returned Dec. 11 at Detroit and then was active for last Saturday’s game against Indianapolis but didn’t play due to an illness. Shelley started that game, and played well.

Dantzler and linebacker Eric Kendricks (hip) both were listed as questionable for Saturday’s game at U.S. Bank Stadium. But Kendricks started.

In addition to Dantzler, four other Vikings players were listed as inactive: center Garrett Bradbury, who was been ruled out Thursday with a back injury; edge rusher Luiji Vilain, defensive lineman Ross Blacklock and guard Kyle Hinton. Hinton had been elevated Friday from the practice squad.

Inactive for the Giants were wide reciever David Sills, cornerbacks Adoree’ Jackson and Rodarius Williams and guards Shane Lemieux and Jack Anderson.
