Vikings get mocked 49th unique player this draft cycle

The Minnesota Vikings have been mocked 48 players through the first 12 weeks of the 2023 calendar year by the industry. Of those 48 players, 15 of them were only mocked to the Vikings one time with six being offensive lineman.

All three of those categories mentioned above will have one more player added to them. In the latest mock draft from The Dallas Morning News, Calvin Watkins sent the Vikings Florida offensive guard O’Cyrus Torrence.

In 355 pass-blocking attempts he didn’t allow a sack or a quarterback hit. He did give up eight QB hurries according to Pro Football Focus.

This is an interesting pick for many reasons. The Vikings do have a slight ned on the interior with Ezra Cleveland on the final year of his contract and Ed Ingram struggling as a rookie.

Does that need warrant a first-round pick? Absolutely not, but Torrence is a very intriguing player. He only allowed his quarterback to get hit one time across 1,501 pass blocking snaps. That’s a pretty impressive stat but with where the Vikings are currently, it doens’t make sense from a roster construction standpoint.
