Vikings PFF grades: Best offensive performances from Week 6

Thanks to a high-octane offense, the Vikings turned their season around on Sunday.

Minnesota scored 34 points, including the game-winning touchdown in overtime, to move to 3-3 on the year. The Vikings’ bye week comes in Week 7, so fans will have to wait until Week 8 against the Cowboys to see their team again.

Until then, let’s assess what went right with the offense. Here are the Vikings’ top PFF grades from the win over the Panthers:

WR Adam Thielen

PFF grade: 84.6

Analysis: Thielen made an improbable touchdown grab to help give the team the 25-17 lead in the third quarter. He finished with 126 receiving yards, hauling in 11 catches on 13 targets. He was all over the field on Sunday, so this grade is definitely fair.

QB Kirk Cousins

PFF grade: 77.0

Analysis: Cousins had another game where he was nearly flawless. He threw for 373 passing yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He capped off the road win by finding K.J. Osborn for the overtime touchdown reception. Cousins gauged the Carolina defense for big plays. The Vikings offense is thriving because of their quarterback — not in spite of him.

TE Chris Herndon

PFF grade: 76.6

Analysis: Herndon made his first catch as a member of the Vikings. On a clever play design, Minnesota found Herndon for a 2-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. Herndon finished with just that reception on the day. I did not really notice him outside of that, but PFF gave him a pass-blocking grade of 70.6 and a run-blocking grade of 73.1.
