Vikings put CB Andrew Booth on injured reserve, activate TE Ben Ellefson
The Vikings on Wednesday placed rookie cornerback Andrew Booth Jr., who is out for the season with a knee injury, on injured reserve and activated tight end Ben Ellefson off injured reserve.
Booth was hurt Nov. 20 against Dallas and had surgery Monday to repair a meniscus. On Tuesday, he was ruled out for the season.
Ellefson has missed the past seven games due to a groin injury. He was designated for return from injured reserve and returned to practice on Nov. 9, and the Vikings after that had a 21-day window in which to activate him or leave him on injured reserve for the rest of the season.
Ellefson is still working his way into game shape, so he might not be active for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets at U.S. Bank Stadium. Rookie Nick Muse is likely to be active as Minnesota’s third tight end.
