Vikings waive CB Dylan Mabin, WR Warren Jackson

Aug. 22—The Vikings on Sunday waived cornerback Dylan Mabin and wide receiver Warren Jackson.

That got their roster down to 83 players in advance of Tuesday, when rosters must be trimmed to 80. However, linebacker Cameron Smith announced his retirement last Wednesday even though he remains on the roster. So, providing the Vikings make a move on Smith, they would need to make moves on two other players to get 80.

Mabin got into three games last season for the Vikings and played in both of their recent preseason games. Jackson was signed Aug. 9, two days after being waived by Denver, and played sparingly in the two preseason games.
