Vinay of 'Indian Matchmaking' Claims on Instagram That Nadia Actually "Ghosted" Him
One of Netflix's newest reality series Indian Matchmaking gives viewers a glimpse into the world of arranged marriages and Indian culture. Specifically, the show, which was filmed in 2019, follows Mumbai-based matchmaker Sima Taparia and her partner-seeking clients as they navigate the tricky world of dating and compatibility.
While the show has been met with notable criticism and sparked important conversations about colorism, casteism, and sexism, the series has quickly become a popular watch on the streaming service.
After seeing all eight episodes, many are left wondering what happened to the stars after the cameras stopped rolling. In case you're curious, here's an update on where each of Sima's clients are today, and whether or not they've since found love after Indian Matchmaking:
Aparna Shewakramani
One of the first individuals introduced on Indian Matchmaking, the Houston native appears to be living her best single life today. While she was optimistic that things with Jay might go somewhere, she told Oprahmag.com that her relationship with him is strictly platonic at this point.
"Dilip, Jay, and Shekar. We're good friends," she told the publication about continuing to talk to three of her matches from the show. "To walk away with three people you can relate to — who are good, and kind, and grounded — is a success in my book."

What's more, she's continuing to rule the world as a lawyer and run her travel company, My Golden Balloon. Though the coronavirus pandemic has made it tough for Aparna to meet another potential match, she said she'd be "open" to the possibility of meeting someone on Zoom.
Nadia Jagessar
Viewers first rooted for Nadia and Vinay Chadha when they connected over their shared hatred of ketchup. Then, shockingly, it looked like Vinay ghosted Nadia out of the blue. That said, however, Vinay claimed on Instagram that it was actually the other way around.

Talking about their movie night date, he wrote, "I NEVER DITCHED HER THERE. The morning of the movie on July 18 I texted saying I was sick and didn't want to last minute flake so I can't come. I thought this [was] honest [and] upfront no BS. She didn't react well when later in the day I got an IV and wanted to meet up. She replied saying I handled this wrong too and never once asked if I was ok. I have receipts to prove it." He ended his long message saying he was left "heartbroken and ghosted."

Responding to Vinay's recollection, the New Jersey-based event planner said that she has "messages" where she told him she didn't want to pursue anything further. But after he kept reaching out, she ultimately ignored him.
"If he considers that ghosting, that's fine," she told the New York Post. "Don’t be mad at me. I am not the producer or the person who created the show. I am a piece of this puzzle, just as you were."
As for her fling with Shekar, the two reportedly continued to see each other and went on a trip together. But it ultimately just wasn't mean to be. "'The stars are not aligned,' as Sima Auntie says," Nadia concluded.
Vyasar Ganesan
The guidance counselor from Austin, Texas was one of the most beloved characters in the series. Alas, despite a face reader predicting that he and his match Rashi would work out, they ended up just being friends. That said, he remains hopeful about finding love in the future.
"It’s no one’s fault. Matchmaking really is tough. Both people [Rashi and Manisha] I was matched with were truly wonderful, inspiring individuals who I’m proud to call friends," Vyasar relayed to the L.A. Times.
Talking to Oprahmag.com, Vyasar revealed that because of the show, in a matter of hours he received 60 messages from people either trying to set him up or asking if he's single. That sounds promising!
Akshay Jakhete and Radhika
Though Preeti, Akshay's mother, was ecstatic when Radhika and Akshay agreed to get married, apparently their plans changed off camera. Akshay explained to the L.A Times: "A few days later, there were some things which we found out that did not go down well with us, and eventually I called it off."
He continued: “Trust is something [that] once broken cannot be regained in a matter of days — it takes a really long time ... I’d rather wait and be with the correct person than be stuck with the wrong person. So I am single right now and still looking for the right one.”
Interestingly, he told Meaww.com something a tad different: "I realized in the night I couldn't sleep, the whole thing was going on in my head, like 'What am I doing with my life, or what's going on? I cannot be stuck with this person.'"
His reason for calling things off? They are two different people, according to Akshay. "I mean, we couldn't even hold a conversation together for more than five minutes. So that's the only reason. The next day itself, I was like, 'I'm not doing this.'"
Pradhyuman Maloo
Up until he met Rushali Rai, Pradhyuman went through a lot of biodata files on his quest to find a life partner. But as he shared on Instagram, after he and Rushali went on their horseback riding date, their romance didn't continue to blossom.
"We did keep in touch," he said. "However long distance didn’t allow us to explore our individual sides and communicate organically plus we were in different stages in our life so we decided to move on and yes we are still friends."

Pradhyuman clarified to the L.A. Times that he is, indeed, still "looking for the right one."
Ankita Bansal
The Delhi-based business owner walked away from Indian Matchmaking without a prospective match. Today, she is continuing to focus on her growing business and her own happiness.
"I am from the generation that grew up watching all possible high school romance and family love stories and my heart is a lot like Anjalis. But I also grew up loving myself in all my glory," she wrote, in part, on Instagram. "I take massive pride in knowing what I want, who I am, my constant changing thought process all thanks to the various experiences I learn through my interactions."

Rupam
While the matchmaker told Rupam that it would be difficult for her to match with someone (because she was divorced and had a child), Rupam seemed to be on the path to love at the end of Indian Matchmaking. As viewers can recall, Rupam met a guy on Bumble and the two ended up trying out a long-distance relationship. Because Rupam doesn't appear to have social media accounts, it's hard to say where she is now and if she's still with the same guy. But more importantly, we just hope she's happy!
