Former New England Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork was missing some important jewelry from his collection at his Texas home this week after police reported his son allegedly stole at least five championship-related rings belonging to him.

D'Aundre Holmes-Wilfork, the son of the two-time Super Bowl-winning player, allegedly stole the rings pertaining to those championships (XXXIX and XLIX), plus two additional AFC Championship rings, a college championship ring, and other jewelry items.

The retired football player's son was arrested on May 22 in Texas and charged with "theft of property greater than 300,000." The Galveston County district attorney's office released the police complaint regarding the charges against Holmes-Wilfork on Monday.

Wilfork first reported the items were missing on May 10 this year but initially discovered they were not in his possession in May 2020. He reportedly neglected to file a police report last year because he thought the jewelry was packed in storage at his second home in Florida.

The probable cause affidavit from the district attorney noted Wilfork received a message from a Patriots fan earlier this year alerting him that a person claimed to have gained possession of Wilfork's championship rings and posted information about them in an online memorabilia group.

Wilfork said he established contact with the person who claimed to own the rings, who told him he bought the jewelry from Holmes-Wilfork in May 2020, paying $62,000 for the rings.

The retired player's jewelry was taken to the Friendswood Police Department after they were reported stolen. Holmes-Wilfork was released on Tuesday on a $300,000 bond.
