When will Vineland's newest Wawa open?

VINELAND - The city's newest Wawa is set to debut later this month.

Wawa on Wednesday announced Vineland's fifth store, located at 1935 W. Landis Ave., will open June 23.

Customers can check out the new location starting at 8 a.m., with the first 100 people through the door receiving a limited edition "Goose Vibes Only" Wawa T-shirt.

An outdoor grand opening celebration is scheduled for 9 a.m.

The store will employ about 50 full- and part-time workers, according to Wawa.

The 5,585-square-foot Wawa sits on more than four acres of land just off Exit 32 of Route 55.

The project, due to its location, was met with a series of changes before gaining approval by Vineland planners in February 2020. The requests included traffic flow modifications and reduced signage.

Wawa plans to donate $35,000 to Inspira Health Network's in support of the Deborah F. Sager Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The company also will host its Hoagies for Heroes hoagie-building competition at the grand opening, pitting the Vineland police and fire departments against each other in a three-minute contest. Wawa will then donate $1,000 to a charity of each department's choosing.

The new Vineland location will be the 13th store Wawa opened this year. The company plans to welcome 54 new stores across its operating area by the end of 2022.
