Vinings Restaurant Among 100 Most Romantic In America: Study

VININGS, GA — Looking for a restaurant to take your sweetheart for Valentine's Day? Look no further — a Vinings restaurant has been named one of the most romantic restaurants in the country.

OpenTable, a restaurant reservation company, analyzed more than 12.4 million diner reviews to come up with a list of the 100 most romantic restaurants in the country, and Vinings' Canoe Restaurant is among them.

OpenTable describes the restaurant as "fine dining," and said it serves jumbo lump crab cakes, crispy shrimp salad, grilled Atlantic salmon, popcorn ice cream sundaes and more.

"Canoe's beautiful historic riverside setting makes it the perfect spot for weddings, receptions and private celebrations," OpenTable's description reads. "Its original cuisine and distinctive design have already been featured in Bon Appetit, Food and Wine, Gourmet, The Wine Spectator and the New York Times."

Located on the Chattahoochee River where Buckhead meets Vinings, the restaurant has a 4.8-star rating on OpenTable and most entrees range in price from $31-$50, according to the company.

Canoe is one of seven Georgia restaurants to make the cut: Alligator Soul and Elizabeth on 37th, both in Savannah; Bones in Buckhead; Poor Calvin's in Midtown; Frankie's the Steakhouse in Duluth; and Marcel in West Midtown were the others.

OpenTable compiled its list ahead of Valentine's Day next week, when restaurants will likely see a resurgence of couples dining out after two years of lower numbers because of the COVID-19 pandemic, officials said.

"Our data suggests that Valentine's Day dining is rebounding this year, with reservations up 30% nationwide compared to last year," said Susan Lee, chief growth officer at OpenTable. "We're excited to see this momentum leading up to what has traditionally been one of the biggest dining days of the year for restaurants."
