Congratulations and all the best to our town’s newest principals and assistant principals around the Manatee School District.

Among the new principals are Ginger Collins, Southeast High; Shelly DeCesar, Lee Middle; Connie Dixon, Witt Elementary; Michael Escorcia, Rogers Garden-Bullock Elementary; Natalie Jadid, Moody Elementary; Andrea Keezer, Williams Elementary; Mike Mullen, King Middle; Samara Hemingway Primous, Samoset Elementary; and Sheila Waid, McNeal Elementary.

And the new assistant principals are Bryan Baker, Blackburn Elementary; Thomas Bellantonio, Lakewood Ranch High; Jennifer Caldwell, Daughtrey Elementary; Beth Campbell, Sea Breeze Elementary; Allison Gehlot, Bayshore High; Maria Gil, Bashaw Elementary; Krista Keats, Rogers Garden-Bullock Elementary; Ariana Kennedy, Bayshore Elementary; Michael Perez, Southeast; Jennifer Santora, Manatee Elementary; and Kristina Whightsel, Barbara Harvey Elementary.

• That wily ol’ stork returns in December for Ashley and Logan Wells and son Gavin who will welcome a baby sister.

• A salute to the new corrections deputies for the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office: Alexa Baroncelli, Shawn Gordon, Dalton Hill, Andrea Ibrahim, Dylan Joseph, Albert Mickens, Jenry Lopez Morales, Ramon Negrete, Aaron Pellegrini, Daulton Rietz and Anysia White.

Xtavia Bailey is 39. Again.

• So is Angel Colonesso.

• And Deb Lilly.

Joel Welin, too.

• And Keenan Wooten.

• A reminder that a Celebration of Life for the late Eddie Mulock will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at Manatee High’s auditorium.

• A bow to Veronica Smiley, a multi-skilled technician in pre-operative services at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, and Tea Rose Award winner, which honors standout patient-care technicians and role models in clinical skill and compassionate care.

• Well done to Manatee Memorial Hospital’s Pamela Wright and Ediana Nascimento. Pamela, who’s been with MMH since 1999, recently earned her bachelor's of science in nursing from Western Governors University. Ediana, who began at MMH eight years ago, got her associate's degree in nursing from Rasmussen University.

• Good for Garrett Waiters, who will go for his master's in public administration at Florida State. He has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.

• And big ups to our town’s 2021 Florida Academic All-America high school football players, announced recently by High School Football America: Braden River’s Tanner Wolf (linebacker), Nick Trier (quarterback), Evan Dangler (LB) and Anthony Campbell (wide receiver); Manatee’s Jayce Berzowski (QB); and Lakewood Ranch’s Clay Brown (WR).
