BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP – A vintage baseball game will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Brownstown Soccer Fields at Thorn Park on King Road.

The Brownstown Volunteers will play the Northville Eclipse. The game will follow baseball rules from the 1800s.

Admission is free; the public is welcome. The WYA food truck will sell coney dogs.

This is the third game the Brownstown team has played locally.

"We had so much fun last year with the two games we held, and the teams are very excited to play in Brownstown,” Sue Trussell, director of the Brownstown Downtown Development Authority, said. “It is just a great atmosphere and everyone can learn a lot about how baseball was played in the 1800s.”

This year, the Brownstown team has new uniforms.

“Michigan CAT generously sponsored the team, and they were able to purchase new, authentic uniforms,” Trussell said. “Everyone needs to come out and see how great the Brownstown Volunteers look this year.”

The event is sponsored by the Brownstown DDA and the Brownstown Historical Society.
