Hollywood star Viola Davis has been announced as the newest spokeswoman at L'Oréal Paris.

The Academy Award-winning actor and activist, 54, has teamed up with the beauty giant to front campaigns for its ‘Age Perfect' campaign that will launch later this month.

"As a young girl, I wasn't always told that I was smart, beautiful, or worthy," Davis said in a statement addressing her new role. "I worked tremendously hard to get where I am today -- overcoming feelings of doubt to become a woman who truly believes I am 'worth it' in every way. I believe it's so important to build confidence in women from a young age, and to role model diverse perspectives of beauty. To now be part of a brand that has been championing women's worth for more than 40 years and to use my voice to help empower others is truly surreal."

Davis, who is preparing for the premiere of the sixth and final season of her hit show "How to Get Away with Murder" later this month, is the latest in a string of high-profile women to join the L'Oréal Paris roll call of ambassadors. The label's other faces include Celine Dion, Helen Mirren, Eva Longoria, Aja Naomi King and Camila Cabello, among others.

In a video clip posted to the L'Oréal Makeup Instagram account, Davis talks about women's worth and potential. The brand captioned the clip: "Viola Davis is an #unstoppable force to be reckoned with. And we are so excited that she's joined the #lorealparisfamily. Viola, you show us every day that with courage and confidence there is no limit to what a strong, beautiful woman can do."
