Milwaukee's own Violent Femmes headline the Generac Power Stage during Summerfest on Friday, June 24, 2022.

The Violent Femmes will play their debut album in its entirety with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra on Oct. 3, the MSO announced in a Facebook post Tuesday.

Tickets will go on sale June 9, the MSO said. No prices were announced. This concert will be at the Bradley Symphony Center, 212 W. Wisconsin Ave.

The punky band, more musically sophisticated than some casual listeners give them credit for, was born in Milwaukee. Their eponymous debut album, released in 1983, includes such memorable tracks as "Blister in the Sun," "Gone Daddy Gone," "Add It Up" and "Kiss Off."

Coincidentally or not, Milwaukee Repertory Theater will stage "Run Bambi Run," a new musical composed by Femmes singer-songwriter Gordon Gano, on Sept. 13-Oct. 22.
