These Viral Air Fryer 'Nutella Toast Pies' Look *So* Delicious

Who knew that you could make a deliciously decadent Nutella dessert in the air fryer and with just four ingredients? Well, until this Nutella toast pies recipe went viral on TikTok, we didn't—and now that we do, we think our worlds have changed for the better. After all, Ree once said of her Itty Bitty Nutella Cakes: "Nutella catapults them into…well, into Nutella Land. And that, as we know, is a wonderful land to visit."

The TikTok video of Nutella toast pies posted by popular baker Eloise Head, who goes by the handle @fitwaffle, has been viewed ten million times and has garnered up more than 914,000 likes. 🤯 And yes, they really are as scrumptious as they sound.

Just look at all that ooey, gooey goodness! This recipe takes both classic toast and hand pies to new heights by using the air fryer to create a mouth-watering crispy, flaky crust that pairs perfectly with the rich, creamy Nutella filling. It also cuts down on cooking time, so you can have a breakfast pastry or delicious dessert ready to go in no time. So, dust off your air fryer and get ready to indulge!

Here's how it's done: You just need four ingredients including bread (preferably spongy white bread), Nutella, egg wash, and powdered sugar to make this tasty treat.

First, prep the bread of your choice by cutting off the crusts and pressing the center down with your thumb until there's a rectangular indent. Next, you'll fill that indented space with Nutella then brush the surrounding edges with egg wash so the bread sticks together. After that, you'll fold the bread in half and seal the edges by gently pressing down with a fork. Once the pies are folded, brush the outsides with the remaining egg wash. Now you'll pop them in the air fryer for five minutes at 356°, or until they’re crisp and golden. Finally, drizzle the pies with melted Nutella and sprinkle powdered sugar on top. Voilà!

If you don't have an air fryer, never fear! According to Head, you can also oven bake these pies at 392° for seven to eight minutes. You can get creative with the recipe as well. Head says, "Feel free to swap the Nutella for Biscoff, peanut butter or another chocolate spread if you prefer." One commenter even exclaimed, "They taste really good with caramel on top."

Well, it's settled. Nutella toast pies have just become a brunch go-to. Although we might just have to whip them up at anytime as a tasty snack, too!
