Viral Tweet Connects Celebrity Romances Between Nick Jonas, Miley Cyrus, and More

My brain hurts.

When it comes to the celebrity dating pool, it sure seems as though it’s a rather small pond. (Case in point: the couple dozen or so names who have been romantically linked to a One Direction member.)

But it turns out, as one Twitter user calculated, all star-studded romance roads might just lead back to the Jonas Brothers. Earlier this week, 21-year-old Miki (who goes by @oceansjonas on the social media platform), tweeted out a handful of celeb dating connections that were mind-blowing enough to go viral. “Nick Jonas dated Miley Cyrus who is dating Cody Simpson who dated Gigi Hadid who dated Joe Jonas,” the tweet — which has over 67,000 likes — read.

Miki, who has been a Jonas Brothers fan since 2006, tells Teen Vogue that she was riding in an Uber the other day while thinking about Cody’s song for Miley, which caused her mind to wander to other celebs. “I thought about that interview Cody had in 2011 about working on his album with Nick in the studio,” she said. “It got me thinking about Cody’s song ‘Surfboard,’ which Gigi Hadid was in when they were dating, then my mind jumped to when Gigi dated Joe.” Did you get all that? Just wait — it’s about to get even more complex, so I hope you're taking notes.

Other people soon replied to Miki’s tweet to offer their own celeb romance connections, most of which looped back to the Jonas Brothers once again. “Joe Jonas who dated Camilla Belle who dated Tim Tebow who dated Olivia Culpo who dated Nick Jonas,” @ShelbyCasanova chimed in. Twitter user @_clarissesilva reminded everyone that Joe also dated Taylor Swift, “who dated Taylor Lautner who dated Selena Gomez who dated Nick Jonas,” while @jophiedobrevik brought up the Taylor Swift/Harry Styles/Georgina Fowler connection as a road back to Nick — a “full-circle moment” that Miki herself didn’t even think of.

Demi Lovato, Mila Kunis, Justin Bieber, and Shawn Mendes were also brought up in the thread, making us wonder if there’s an infinite amount of combinations here. One fan even attempted an infographic to document everything, but quickly ran out of space.

As for Miki, she told Teen Vogue that going viral was both a funny and “kind of scary” experience. “I don’t want Joe or Nick seeing it, feeling like I’m exposing them or attacking them as someone who’s their fan,” she explained, as her initial tweet was just for fun (and it sure seems as though other fans were also having fun thinking of their own “six degrees” of dating separation). One thing is for sure — the celeb dating pool might just be smaller than we ever thought. If you’ll need me, I’ll be trying to map out these connections for the rest of the day, or until I give myself a massive headache, whichever comes first!
