After viral video, Louisiana man who rescued 13 kittens sees an outpouring of support

When Robert Brantley stopped to rescue a kitten in the road, he didn't expect 12 more to appear. When he posted the video of the adorable ambush, he got another surprise with all the attention that came his way.

Brantley is a professional shooter who was headed towards the shooting range when he pulled over to rescue a stray kitten in the road. As he picked it up, three more emerged from the tall grass and he was soon ambushed by a total of 13, including the one he had stopped for.

Brantley recorded the interaction, capturing the moment all of the kittens swarmed him in the now-viral video.

At this time, all but five of the 13 kittens have been adopted and all of them received medical care from the vet who commented they were in exceptional shape considering they had been abandoned.

Brantley believes he pulled up right behind whoever had dumped them. He recalls seeing a car pull off to the side of the road and pull away not long after he arrived.

The kittens are in good hands and Brantley is making sure they are going to good homes.

Amazon packages are being sent in from all over as Brantley's wife Courtney had set up a wish list to help with things the kittens might need.

"They are playing, we've got all sorts of toys for them and they have taken over the house," Brantley laughed. "Today, I think we saw we had 35 Amazon packages come in for these cats."

With so many items coming in, the Brantleys have been sending "goody bags" along with the kittens who have been adopted.

In addition to the Amazon donations, they have also been receiving money from people all over and plan to use it to help with medical care for the remaining kittens and would like to give and remainder to a local animal shelter.

"It's amazing that not only people saw it to begin with, but took the time to reach out and thank me and all that, but there's no need to thank me. I don't know anybody who wouldn't have done that, I don't know who could leave them or pass them up after seeing them," Brantley said.

Brantley and his wife plan to keep two of the kittens, possibly three, and are still looking for good homes for the remaining.

"Just the amount of support is mind blowing and I want the people to get the credit for that and I'm pretty impressed by it all," said Brantley.
