Virgin River's Alexandra Breckenridge shares disappointing season 6 update

Virgin River star Alexandra Breckenridge has shared a disappointing update on the sixth season.
The Netflix romance-drama will return to screens next week (September 7) with its fifth season, but the lead star revealed that the already announced sixth season would be delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
“I feel like I've been cooking since I got back from dropping off my daughter at school,” she began in a clip on her Instagram Story. “I'm trying to do something fun and creative with my time, because SAG is on strike and I can't go back to work.

“And I can't even talk about work, so, if all y'all [are] trying to send me messages asking about work-related things, I can't answer you and I'm really sorry about that. I can't post anything, I can't promote anything. It's very weird.
“I'm not usually someone who likes to do a lot of promotion, just because it can be daunting and stressful to do interviews. I'm always like 'Am I going to say the wrong thing or the right thing' and all these people are looking at me. So I'm trying to do cooking because that's what I love to do,” she concluded.
Breckenridge has previously showcased her love for cooking on her Instagram Story, with one post last month following her daughter as they picked mushrooms for a risotto, which she shared with co-star Zibby Allen.

The fifth season will be split into two parts, with the first 10 episodes being released simultaneously next week; the remaining two instalments will air on November 30.
The trailer for the series promised plenty of drama, with new relationships, breakups, babies and even a wildfire being brought to the foreground.
Virgin River seasons 1-4 are streaming now on Netflix. Season 5 Part 1 will premiere on September 7.
