Virginia Cannabis Control Authority to hold town hall in Shenandoah Valley

WEYERS CAVE – The Virginia Cannabis Control Authority (CCA) will hold its sixth public town hall meeting at Blue Ridge Community College on July 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., according to a news release.

The town hall will provide the public with the opportunity to learn more about the CCA’s mission, roles and near term priorities. It will also feature a discussion of current cannabis laws in Virginia and provide the public with a chance to share its perspectives and ask questions about cannabis.

“It’s important Virginians have clear and credible information about cannabis regulation in the Commonwealth,” said Jeremy Preiss, acting head of the CCA and chief officer for regulation, policy and external affairs. “The town halls we’ve held across the state are also a great way to inform communities about the CCA’s public safety and health mission and help us gain a better appreciation of the public’s perspective on cannabis, including their concerns and priorities.”

The town hall is open to the public and will also stream live online. Those wishing to speak during the event are encouraged to sign up online. Speakers will be called upon during the town hall in the order they have signed up.

All speakers will have a two-minute time limit.
