Virginia man sentenced for domestic battery in West Virginia

OAK HILL, WV (WVNS) — A Virginia main was sentenced to jail for domestic battery in the Oak Hill area of Fayette County, West Virginia.

Oak Hill woman sentenced for felony drug crime

44-year-old Christopher T. Stephens, of Newcastle, Virginia, was sentenced to jail to two sentences of one year each for convictions of two counts of domestic battery.

According to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for Fayette County, West Virginia, Oak Hill Police Department officers responded on April 18, 2023 to a house in the Oak Hill area, after getting reports of domestic violence between a man and a woman.

When officers arrived, they found the victim and a minor victim in their house. The victim reported that she and the minor were attacked by Stephens in an fight over a debit card, where Stephens hit and strangled her, and the minor tried to intervene and was also hit by Stephens. Stephens fled the house before officers arrived on the scene.

Stephens was later arrested, and he plead guilty to the offenses on November 14, 2023.
